Interstate 5 is located three miles from the community linking Aliso Viejo with San Diego to the south and Los Angeles to the north. The San Joaquin Hills Tollway (73) connects Aliso Viejo directly to the I-5 and San Juan Capistrano to the south and John Wayne Airport, South Coast Plaza and Fashion Island to the North.

Aliso Niguel High School opened in 1993 with one of the most sophisticated high school learning centers on the West Coast.
